Top 3 Thursday: Reading Spots

June 27, 2018June 24, 2018 ~ acosyreader ~ 3 Comments

Hey readers! Most bookworms I know will pick their book up for a read anywhere they can, but will also have an absolutely ideal reading spot. Today's T3T is all about sharing those cosy reading dens we love 🙂 Here are mine... 1. Curled up in an armchair at Accents Cafe in Dublin I know this … Continue reading Top 3 Thursday: Reading Spots

Review: The Book Ninja – Ali Berg & Michelle Kalus

June 24, 2018July 29, 2018 ~ acosyreader ~ 9 Comments

I was lucky enough to receive a copy of this new release from Simon & Schuster, and I couldn't have been happier because this book ended up being such a warm and funny read. The Book Ninja follows unlucky-in-love Frankie Rose (named after the Frankston train line on which she was conceived...) who, after a … Continue reading Review: The Book Ninja – Ali Berg & Michelle Kalus

The Mystery Blogger Award!

June 23, 2018June 24, 2018 ~ acosyreader ~ 5 Comments

Hey readers! I was nominated last week for the Mystery Blogger Award by the lovely Kelly of the Cats & Tea blog (side note, what perfect accompaniments to a good book are those). I'll let the award creator explain what this award is all about: “The Mystery Blogger Award is an award for amazing bloggers with ingenious … Continue reading The Mystery Blogger Award!

Top 3 Thursday: Epigraphs/Dedications

June 20, 2018June 21, 2018 ~ acosyreader ~ 1 Comment

The start of a book is a wondrous thing. Cracking open the cover and breathing in that glorious book smell, not yet sure of what awaits you beyond the preface, epigraph, or dedication. But this Top 3 Thursday is to celebrate those books that captivate or humour us from even that very first impression. *** … Continue reading Top 3 Thursday: Epigraphs/Dedications

Review: Pachinko – Min Jin Lee

June 18, 2018June 24, 2018 ~ acosyreader ~ 3 Comments

I felt like I had been seeing this book everywhere - bookshops, Instagram, online, even at Syd Writers Festival - so I was delighted when the new book club I'm in with some of my Frisbee teammates agreed to read it as our first ever pick! Before we get stuck in to it, please appreciate how on … Continue reading Review: Pachinko – Min Jin Lee

Top 3 Thursday: Book Quotes that stuck with me

June 14, 2018June 21, 2018 ~ acosyreader ~ 9 Comments

Hello again! This week's topic is a hard one for my because I have a notebook FULL of book quotes that I've loved and have resonated with me over my years of reading. I love it especially because on different pages I will have quotes from the same book that I've re-read and noticed something … Continue reading Top 3 Thursday: Book Quotes that stuck with me

Review: Queendom of the Seven Lakes – A B Endacott

June 11, 2018July 29, 2018 ~ acosyreader ~ 7 Comments

So this is super exciting for me because it's the first time an author has reached out to me for a review instead of me going looking for review copies! So I'd like to start with a big THANK YOU to Alice (the 'A') for hitting me up and letting me in to the world … Continue reading Review: Queendom of the Seven Lakes – A B Endacott

Today I'm celebrating beautiful things - 4 years with my love, looking after myself with my first CBT session, and these gorgeous covers that fill me with joy (as do the contents) 🥰 🙏🏻 What beautiful things do you want to celebrate this week? ❤️ • • • #BeautifulCovers #RedCovers #RedBooks #BeautifulBooks
A belated congratulations to @leigh_sales for taking out the @thewalkleys Book Award this year 🎉 ANY ORDINARY DAY was an outstanding read that buoyed my heart at a time I really needed it this year. Full of warmth and emotion, but still tackling the big questions and diving into the side of trauma we don't see - what happens after something absolutely turns your life upside down? How do you go on? Such a captivating book that I took so much away from (evidenced by my heavy tabbing 😉) Highly recommend picking it up if you're one of the few who haven't already, PLUS it's been released in small format, just in time for Christmas 🎁 • • • #AnyOrdinaryDay #LeighSales #WalkleyBookAward #NonFictionReads
So. Many. Books. On. My. TBR. How do you handle TBR overwhelm? 🐧 Where do I start the reading? Can someone pay me to go off grid and read for like 3 weeks? Questions I ask myself every time my cart of books threatens to topple over and drown me 🙈 🐧 Thank you to @penguinbooksaus for adding to the pile at our #SydBookBrunch last month! 🥰 I'm still recovering 🤗 • • • #DearGirls #OliveAgain #FullDisclosure #PenguinBooks #BookPile
What are your "cosy time" essentials? I love a couch, blanket, hot tea, and cookies (with a book, of course!) 🍪 Early post tonight as we're on the plane about to take off for Hobart 🎉 • • • #HyggeHome #CosyReading #ChristmasBreakfast
