Top 3 Thursday: Book Quotes that stuck with me

Hello again!

This week’s topic is a hard one for my because I have a notebook FULL of book quotes that I’ve loved and have resonated with me over my years of reading. I love it especially because on different pages I will have quotes from the same book that I’ve re-read and noticed something different in the second time around (or third…)

Anyway, let’s get stuck in hey?

***

1. ‘We had to believe in kindness, and courtesy, and telling the truth’ – Tea Time for the Traditionally Built, Alexander McCall Smith

I’ll level with you here, I have so. many. quotes. in my quote book from this series. Mma Ramotswe is everything I want to be – honest, respectful, self-assured, a rad detective…I mean what’s not to love? I also adore her little insights like these that are scattered throughout the series ♥

2. ‘You only need one ray of light to chase all the shadows away’ – A Man Called Ove, Fredrik Backman

Have I written a list yet without this book on it? Regardless, this may have stuck with me because I read it recently or just because it’s a really lovely thought.

‘It’s the simple things in life that are the most extraordinary’ – The Alchemist, Paolo Coelho

I would be remiss not to include a quote from my #1 book. This is possibly the only book I have ever underlined my favourite quotes in, rather than just writing them down. This quote stands out particularly as a reminder to recognise the wonder in our every day.

As a quote-phile (quodophile if you believe what Google says, which the dictionary doesn’t), I’d love to hear what some of your favourite quotes are! Pop them in the comments below or join in the T3T blog meme!

If you do join in, please post your link below so we can all enjoy 🙂

Until next time, readers!

  1. These are some lovely quotes! I haven’t read any of these books, but I may just have to look into it! I posted my Top 3 Quotes, but another of my favourite quotes has to be ““You haven’t got a letter on yours,” George observed. “I suppose she thinks you don’t forget your name. But we’re not stupid-we know we’re called Gred and Forge.”” From my all-time fave twins ❤
