One of the things I love about reading is getting to dive into a new world, meet new characters, and broaden my worldview. Whether it’s reading a book by an author with a different background to myself, or set in a different country, or characters with different views or struggles to my own, it’s a wonderful (and sometimes frustrating) feeling to learn through reading.
1. The Alchemist – Paolo Coelho
This book has a special place in my heart, but mostly it taught me to be patient with the universe. That sometimes, we are given what we need right when we need it, and not a minute before.
2. Everything Here is Beautiful – Mira T Lee
You’ve seen this in my last 2 posts as well so might be getting sick of me talking about it! This book was one of the most intricate and ‘real’ looks at serious mental illness that I’ve seen in a book and it really did teach me a lot in that regard.
3. The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck – Mark Manson
This one might be a slight cop out given it is actually a non-fiction book, but it served as a pretty good reminder that it’s okay to say no, it’s okay to not spread yourself too thin by investing too deeply in things you don’t really care about just because you think you should. I’m still learning but it’s a good first step (also it made me literally LOL at times so it was entertaining as well).
What are some books, fiction or non-fiction, that taught you something new or valuable? I’d love to hear about them!
Until next week,
M xx
What a great idea to post books like this! I don’t know if I have any recent books to add, but seeing your post has reminded me to think about books in a different way. I’m going to see if my next book teaches me something new!

I know a lot of people who didn’t like The Alchemist but I loved it because it teaches us a really important lesson and I think it’s also a beautiful story❤ it’s also one of the first books I ever bought for myself😂
