I’m really looking forward to discovering bookshops around the country (and world) from today’s Top 3 Thursday posts!
Local bookshops are always such a joy to me, and it’s been hard whittling it down to just 3. There’s nothing quite like walking in to a room or space full of books just waiting to be cracked open, with a dedicated bookseller on hand ready to help you find your next great adventure, or a book a friend will love!
1. Berkelouw Books – Leichhardt
I absolutely ADORE this bookshop! There’s a treasure trove of second hand books in the upstairs level, plus new books & bookish gifts on the ground floor. To top it off, there’s a lovely little cafe right next door so you can grab a coffee and immediately dive in to your fresh book.
2. Better Read Than Dead – Newtown
Better Read Than Dead is a Newtown favourite for sure! Their selection is incredible, and they also run fabulous events really often! Plus, their Instagram account does a weekly showcase of their top 10 sellers of the week, so you can see what others in the area are buying and reading – which I always
3. Gleebooks – Dulwich Hill
There are a few of these dotted around the place, but my favourite will always be the one within a 10 minute walk of my house (for obvious reasons). It has a gorgeous selection of stationery, plus tables of books and a gorgeous little cove for the children’s books.
I love the neighbourhood vibe of the shop, plus if you’reΒ very lucky you might catch them on a day they’ve put their review copies out to take for free since they can’t sell them!
Share some of your favourite local bookshops with me! I could have had a much longer list than this but wanted to stick to some I frequent often π
Until next week,
M xx
Love this post!
Would be ace for you to check out Readings (Carlton), Hill of Content (in the CBD), and The Avenue (in Albert Park).
Perhaps you should organise a trip π
